Good News for the Summer!
I just wanted to share a couple of pieces of "Summer" Good News with my fellow Pilgrims:
(1) The book that will be discussed at the upcoming 4th Day Retreat is OUT OF PRINT!
Why is that Good News? Because you don't have to do any "homework" to attend the 4th
Day Retreat!!! It feel like cheating but it's not because you can't help it.
(2) There will not be a July Gathering because of the 4th Day Retreat. Why is that Good
News? Because you can still get together with your Emmaus buddies by attending the 4th
Day Retreat! But wait, it gets better (women & team of Walk # 113 - sound familiar?)!
On the 4th Day Retreat, you get WAY more sleep, you don't have to sing "De Colores" for
your meals (unless you just really want to...!), and there will be no BELLs!
Life is good ~ so don't wait to sign up & take advantage of all this Good News!

Calling all Emmaus & Chrysalis Cooks!!!
The Emmaus Board of Directors needs your help to showcase what a GREAT bunch of cooks we
have in the Emmaus & Chrysalis Communities by helping us put together a CCEC
Cookbook! Please send your best recipes to either Christy Stephens or Michelle
Jones (see e-mail addresses below) so we can start “populating” this cookbook. Deadline for
sending recipes is August 1st (our next Gathering date!). Our goal is to have the cookbooks available at the November Gathering ~ they’ll make great holiday gifts!
To make things real easy, you can enter your favorite recipe(s) online!

All proceeds from cookbook sales will go into the Emmaus & Chrysalis Communities’ general funds,
which help provide scholarships and deal with any shortfalls the Communities may experience.
And we have a special prize (AGAPE!) for the person that sells the most cookbooks. But for
now, just send us your yummiest recipes. (Gwen Baker, we hope this includes that famous
Pimento Cheese of yours!)

We still have many open slots (dozens) that CCEC has committed to Camp Caraway, and we need to
fill them! Scholarships are also available during these tough economic times. Lynn has details.

Several of the familiar practices have changed and everyone sponsoring a pilgrim will need to
take sponsorship training even if you took it years ago. And hey, you get to eat first at the gatherings
when the training takes place! :-)
