The Walk

The Walk was somewhere I didn’t know if I should be,

I had heard of its power, but would it be right for me?

My spiritual life was growing tired; sin was pulling me apart,

I could feel God’s flame slowly burning out in my heart.

As the bus traveled by darkness down an unfamiliar road,

I had no idea that God would soon be lightening my load.

The baggage of sin I carried for years as a pack,

Would not be making the return trip back.

As Christian Brothers we united and new friendships were born.

We sang together, we prayed together and together we mourned.

Most touching of all was the love from the candles bright light.

It still brings tears to my eyes when I envision the sight.

Our faith and love had grown stronger with every day and every night,

We were now eager men, ready to join God’s good fight.

Through God’s love I was introduced to a rejuvenated life’s plan,

I walked in with an empty heart; I’m walking out a new man!
